Our trained technicians will evaluate the space and position the UVC light to ensure the light can penetrate every surface, thus eliminating harmful pathogens. Technicians always practice the utmost caution when operating this machine and do require the space to free of any humans and/or animals. Our tower is equipped with  motion sensors, if entry is made in error with will instantly deactivate the light.

The ultraviolet light is also capable of sanitizing the air. Our technicians will place UVC intensity strips in multiple areas within the room to verify enough UVC light has been absorbed, and a photochemical reaction has been confirmed the space is 99.9% sanitized and safe to resume use.

What is UVC Light and is it safe?

UVC Light is a disinfection method that uses short-wavelength ultraviolet (UVC) light to kill or deactivate micro-organisms by destroying nucleic acids and disrupting their DNA, leaving them unable to reproduce. UVC is a chemical free sanitation method that has been used since its discovery in 1878.  In 1901 Niels Ryberg Finsen first used UVC light to treat tuberculosis of the skin and France used it in 1910 to sanitize the water systems. Whole room UVC light sanitation systems were first introduced around 2007 and has been used worldwide for sanitaion/disinfection and various medical treatments.

UVC Light is a powerful, non-toxic, chemical free sanitation method that is capable of killing 99.9% of harmful micro-organisms. Although UVC provides non-damaging results there are still precautions that must be taken to ensure both the technicians safety as well as an personnel and/or animals within the space. Our technicians always wear safety jackets, glasses and heat resistant gloves when operating this machine. UVC light is harmful to the skin and eyes,  direct exposure can cause skin irritation, burns, and blindness; all human contact when this machine is operating should be avoided. UVC Sanitation is only performed in empty spaces to avoid exposure.
