GMAX TESTING

Gmax Testing, also known as impact testing, measures the shock attenuation of a turfs surface. The ASTM International requires that a turf's gmax levels not exceed 200g's or it is considered a unsafe playing surface. It is crucial to player safety that these levels be monitored in order to decrease the chances of player injuries and/or poor player performance. Common signs of a field experiencing poor gmax levels are: concussion, poor player performance, fatigue, injury, and in more serious cases death. We highly recommend performing this test on fields of all ages to help ensure your turf is a safe playing surface.
